# Stepz vs StepSaga

The clearest difference is monetization model: StepSaga at freemium against Stepz's subscription. StepSaga also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and review sentiment (100% vs 77%). Stepz's advantage is ratings volume (33K vs 7) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stepz sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and StepSaga sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StepSaga holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stepz has 33K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 77% of Stepz's written reviews are positive against 100% of StepSaga's.

Stepz ships an update weekly, StepSaga every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
