# Stepz vs StepZeno

The clearest difference is monetization model: StepZeno at freemium against Stepz's subscription. StepZeno also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5). Stepz's advantage is ratings volume (33K vs 7) and iOS requirement (15.5 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stepz sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and StepZeno sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StepZeno holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stepz has 33K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Stepz ships an update weekly, StepZeno every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
