# Stepz vs Just Walk

The clearest difference is monetization model: Just Walk at free with in-app purchases against Stepz's subscription. Just Walk also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and ads (none vs shown). Stepz's advantage is ratings volume (33K vs 2). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stepz sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Just Walk sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Just Walk holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stepz has 33K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 77% of Stepz's written reviews are positive against 100% of Just Walk's.

Stepz ships an update weekly, Just Walk every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
