# Stepz vs StepCat

The clearest difference is monetization model: StepCat at free with in-app purchases against Stepz's subscription. StepCat also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). Stepz's advantage is ratings volume (33K vs 4) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stepz sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and StepCat sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StepCat holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stepz has 33K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Stepz ships an update weekly, StepCat every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
