# Tasty Tale vs Sewer Rat

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Sewer Rat at none against Tasty Tale's 7. Sewer Rat also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 months). Tasty Tale's advantage is ratings volume (4.6K vs 3) and rating (4.7 vs 4.3). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tasty Tale sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Sewer Rat asks for nothing beyond the download.

Tasty Tale holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tasty Tale has 4.6K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of Tasty Tale's written reviews are positive against 83% of Sewer Rat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tasty Tale ships an update every 3 months, Sewer Rat every 9 days. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
