# CloudConvert vs Proton Drive

The clearest difference is review sentiment: CloudConvert at 75% against Proton Drive's 37%. CloudConvert also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 9). Proton Drive's advantage is rating (4.1 vs 3.8) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 80). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Proton Drive sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. CloudConvert asks for nothing beyond the download.

Proton Drive holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Proton Drive has 1.2K ratings behind it against 80, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of CloudConvert's written reviews are positive against 37% of Proton Drive's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
