# Google Docs vs MyScript Notes

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Google Docs at 3.3M against MyScript Notes's 39K. Google Docs also leads on chart position (#10 vs unranked). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Google Docs sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $199.99 per year and MyScript Notes sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Google Docs against 4.7 for MyScript Notes. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Google Docs has 3.3M ratings behind it against 39K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 70% of Google Docs's written reviews are positive against 66% of MyScript Notes's.

Google Docs ships an update weekly, MyScript Notes every 10 days. Both last shipped on October 10, 2026.
