# Google Sheets vs Notion

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Google Sheets at none against Notion's 6. Google Sheets also leads on ratings volume (1.9M vs 90K) and chart position (#15 vs #51). Notion's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs weekly). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notion sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Google Sheets asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Google Sheets against 4.8 for Notion. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Google Sheets has 1.9M ratings behind it against 90K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 56% of Google Sheets's written reviews are positive against 55% of Notion's.

Google Sheets ships an update weekly, Notion every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
