# SecureSmart vs Maytag

The clearest difference is rating: Maytag at 4.7 against SecureSmart's 4.3. Maytag also leads on ratings volume (46K vs 161) and review sentiment (30% vs 22%). SecureSmart's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Maytag holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Maytag has 46K ratings behind it against 161, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 22% of SecureSmart's written reviews are positive against 30% of Maytag's.

SecureSmart ships an update every 2 weeks, Maytag every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
