# OT Advanced Authentication vs GroupWise Messenger

The clearest difference is rating: GroupWise Messenger at 3.4 against OT Advanced Authentication's 1.7. GroupWise Messenger also leads on monetization model (free vs paid) and iOS requirement (11.3 vs 15). OT Advanced Authentication's advantage is ratings volume (149 vs 5) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 8 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GroupWise Messenger holds the better App Store score, 3.4 against 1.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OT Advanced Authentication has 149 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 8% of OT Advanced Authentication's written reviews are positive against 0% of GroupWise Messenger's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

OT Advanced Authentication ships an update every 3 months, GroupWise Messenger every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
