# Centering Prayer vs The Pause App

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: The Pause App at none against Centering Prayer's 18. The Pause App also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.1). Centering Prayer's advantage is ratings volume (18K vs 11) and rating (4.9 vs 4.6). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Centering Prayer sells 18 one-off in-app purchases. The Pause App asks for nothing beyond the download.

Centering Prayer holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Centering Prayer has 18K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 98% of Centering Prayer's written reviews are positive against 100% of The Pause App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Centering Prayer ships an update every 3 months, The Pause App every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
