# Brain Wars vs Nine Race

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Nine Race at none against Brain Wars's 8. Nine Race also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 6 weeks) and review sentiment (83% vs 65%). Brain Wars's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (2.5K vs 22). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brain Wars sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. Nine Race asks for nothing beyond the download.

Brain Wars holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brain Wars has 2.5K ratings behind it against 22, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of Brain Wars's written reviews are positive against 83% of Nine Race's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Brain Wars ships an update every 6 weeks, Nine Race every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
