# Narwhal for Reddit vs Reddit

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Narwhal for Reddit at 70% against Reddit's 25%. Narwhal for Reddit also leads on ads (none vs shown). Reddit's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (3.5M vs 17K). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Narwhal for Reddit sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Reddit sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Reddit holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Reddit has 3.5M ratings behind it against 17K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Narwhal for Reddit's written reviews are positive against 25% of Reddit's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Narwhal for Reddit ships an update weekly, Reddit every 6 days. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
