# Photo Metadata Viewer vs ALPHA Creators

The clearest difference is rating: ALPHA Creators at 5.0 against Photo Metadata Viewer's 4.4. ALPHA Creators also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs every 3 months). Photo Metadata Viewer's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and ratings volume (588 vs 6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Photo Metadata Viewer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and ALPHA Creators sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ALPHA Creators holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Photo Metadata Viewer has 588 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Photo Metadata Viewer ships an update every 3 months, ALPHA Creators every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
