# Totalplay vs Cinebox

The clearest difference is rating: Cinebox at 3.1 against Totalplay's 2.0. Cinebox also leads on iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). Totalplay's advantage is ratings volume (327 vs 11) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Cinebox holds the better App Store score, 3.1 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Totalplay has 327 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 2% of Totalplay's written reviews are positive against 0% of Cinebox's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Totalplay ships an update every 3 weeks, Cinebox every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
