# Notex vs Notepad

The clearest difference is rating: Notepad at 5.0 against Notex's 4.1. Notex's advantage is ratings volume (66 vs 2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notex sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Notepad sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Notepad holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notex has 66 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 72% of Notex's written reviews are positive against 79% of Notepad's.

Notex ships an update every 3 weeks, Notepad every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
