# Solar System vs Planets AR

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Planets AR at 100% against Solar System's 38%. Planets AR also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 14 months). Solar System's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.0 vs 3.7). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Solar System sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Planets AR sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Solar System holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 25 and 6 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Solar System's written reviews are positive against 100% of Planets AR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Solar System ships an update every 14 months, Planets AR daily. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
