# KTIV vs NorthSouth

The clearest difference is ads: NorthSouth at none against KTIV's shown. NorthSouth also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported). KTIV's advantage is ratings volume (2.6K vs 3) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for KTIV against 4.7 for NorthSouth. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: KTIV has 2.6K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

KTIV ships an update monthly, NorthSouth every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
