# 2 vs Bastion

The clearest difference is price: Bastion at Free against 2's $0.99. Bastion also leads on rating (4.6 vs 3.4) and ratings volume (1.5K vs 20). 2's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months) and iOS requirement (8.1 vs 11.0). On review sentiment, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Bastion is free to download; 2 costs $0.99 up front. 2 sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Bastion sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bastion holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bastion has 1.5K ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of 2's written reviews are positive against 59% of Bastion's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

2 ships an update monthly, Bastion every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
