# MapChat vs VERO

The clearest difference is rating: MapChat at 5.0 against VERO's 4.2. MapChat also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). VERO's advantage is review sentiment (60% vs 33%) and ratings volume (1.5K vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VERO sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month. MapChat asks for nothing beyond the download.

MapChat holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VERO has 1.5K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of MapChat's written reviews are positive against 60% of VERO's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MapChat ships an update every 3 weeks, VERO monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
