# PrepsKC vs KC Current

The clearest difference is rating: PrepsKC at 5.0 against KC Current's 3.9. PrepsKC also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). KC Current's advantage is ratings volume (64 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

PrepsKC holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: KC Current has 64 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of PrepsKC's written reviews are positive against 55% of KC Current's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PrepsKC ships an update every 4 months, KC Current every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
