# Competitive vs ECNL

Competitive and ECNL both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Competitive's written reviews are positive against 10% of ECNL's. Competitive also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and iOS requirement (11.4 vs 15.0). ECNL's advantage is ratings volume (5.8K vs 20) and chart position (#201 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ECNL sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month. Competitive asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Competitive against 4.6 for ECNL. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ECNL has 5.8K ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Competitive's written reviews are positive against 10% of ECNL's.

Competitive ships an update every 5 weeks, ECNL every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
