# Metronotes vs DSM

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Metronotes at none against DSM's 4. Metronotes also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.6). DSM's advantage is device support (3 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DSM sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Metronotes asks for nothing beyond the download.

Metronotes ships an update monthly, DSM every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
