# Canada Press vs Ottawa Sun

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Canada Press at 59% against Ottawa Sun's 4%. Canada Press also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (55 vs 1). Ottawa Sun's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (monthly vs every 12 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Canada Press sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Ottawa Sun sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ottawa Sun holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Canada Press has 55 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of Canada Press's written reviews are positive against 4% of Ottawa Sun's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Canada Press ships an update every 12 months, Ottawa Sun monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
