# Canada Press vs Edmonton Sun

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Canada Press at 59% against Edmonton Sun's 3%. Canada Press also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (55 vs 1). Edmonton Sun's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (monthly vs every 12 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Canada Press sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Edmonton Sun sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Edmonton Sun holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Canada Press has 55 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of Canada Press's written reviews are positive against 3% of Edmonton Sun's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Canada Press ships an update every 12 months, Edmonton Sun monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
