# Canada Press vs Narcity

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Narcity at none against Canada Press's 4. Narcity also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 12 months) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). Canada Press's advantage is review sentiment (59% vs 40%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.4). On price, ratings volume, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Canada Press sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Narcity asks for nothing beyond the download.

Narcity holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 55 and 68 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of Canada Press's written reviews are positive against 40% of Narcity's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Canada Press ships an update every 12 months, Narcity monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
