# Canada Press vs Québec Science

The clearest difference is ads: Québec Science at none against Canada Press's shown. Québec Science also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and review sentiment (80% vs 59%). Canada Press's advantage is ratings volume (55 vs 4) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Canada Press sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Québec Science sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Québec Science holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Canada Press has 55 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 59% of Canada Press's written reviews are positive against 80% of Québec Science's.

Canada Press ships an update every 12 months, Québec Science every 18 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
