# HomeGoods vs ShopGoodwill

The clearest difference is monetization model: ShopGoodwill at free against HomeGoods's free with in-app purchases. HomeGoods's advantage is rating (2.6 vs 2.4). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

HomeGoods holds the better App Store score, 2.6 against 2.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2.1K and 989 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 6% of HomeGoods's written reviews are positive against 12% of ShopGoodwill's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HomeGoods ships an update every 2 months, ShopGoodwill every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
