# PatternMaker vs Lace Words

Both are free to download. Lace Words sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. PatternMaker asks for nothing beyond the download.

Lace Words holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 7 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of PatternMaker's written reviews are positive against 33% of Lace Words's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
