# SpeakMinder vs Echo

The clearest difference is price: Echo at Free against SpeakMinder's $2.99. Echo also leads on ratings volume (68 vs 2) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 4 months). SpeakMinder's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 3.8) and in-app purchases (none vs 2). On ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Echo is free to download; SpeakMinder costs $2.99 up front. Echo sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. SpeakMinder asks for nothing beyond the download.

SpeakMinder holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Echo has 68 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of SpeakMinder's written reviews are positive against 67% of Echo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SpeakMinder ships an update every 4 months, Echo every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
