# EZ Chinese vs WriteChinese

EZ Chinese and WriteChinese both sit at 4.3 stars, but that hides the real split: 67% of EZ Chinese's written reviews are positive against 25% of WriteChinese's. EZ Chinese also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 7 months). WriteChinese's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (21 vs 6). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. EZ Chinese sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and WriteChinese sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WriteChinese holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6 and 21 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of EZ Chinese's written reviews are positive against 25% of WriteChinese's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

EZ Chinese ships an update every 2 months, WriteChinese every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
