# Voice Translate vs Microsoft Translator

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Microsoft Translator at none against Voice Translate's 3. Microsoft Translator also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (158K vs 132). Voice Translate's advantage is review sentiment (72% vs 44%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Voice Translate sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Microsoft Translator asks for nothing beyond the download.

Microsoft Translator holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Microsoft Translator has 158K ratings behind it against 132, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 72% of Voice Translate's written reviews are positive against 44% of Microsoft Translator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Voice Translate ships an update every 2 months, Microsoft Translator every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
