# Sober vs Meeting Guide

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Meeting Guide at none against Sober's 3. Sober's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.4) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sober sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Meeting Guide asks for nothing beyond the download.

Sober holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sober has 7.9K ratings behind it against 1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of Sober's written reviews are positive against 70% of Meeting Guide's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sober ships an update every 3 weeks, Meeting Guide every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
