# Sober vs Sipless

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Sober at 67% against Sipless's 11%. Sober also leads on rating (4.8 vs 3.7) and monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sober sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Sipless sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Sober holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sober has 7.8K ratings behind it against 290, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 67% of Sober's written reviews are positive against 11% of Sipless's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
