# Sober vs Memorable Stories

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Memorable Stories at none against Sober's 3. Memorable Stories also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Sober's advantage is ratings volume (7.9K vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sober sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Memorable Stories asks for nothing beyond the download.

Memorable Stories holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sober has 7.9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Sober ships an update every 3 weeks, Memorable Stories every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
