# Solar System Scope vs Star Walk 2 Pro

The clearest difference is price: Solar System Scope at Free against Star Walk 2 Pro's $2.99. Solar System Scope also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Star Walk 2 Pro's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (67K vs 894). On review sentiment, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Solar System Scope is free to download; Star Walk 2 Pro costs $2.99 up front. Solar System Scope sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Star Walk 2 Pro sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Star Walk 2 Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Star Walk 2 Pro has 67K ratings behind it against 894, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of Solar System Scope's written reviews are positive against 72% of Star Walk 2 Pro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Solar System Scope ships an update every 4 months, Star Walk 2 Pro every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
