# C vs HID Reader Manager

The clearest difference is update cadence: HID Reader Manager at every 2 months against C's every 10 months. HID Reader Manager also leads on rating (2.6 vs 2.3) and ratings volume (26 vs 3). C's advantage is review sentiment (30% vs 12%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

HID Reader Manager holds the better App Store score, 2.6 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HID Reader Manager has 26 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of C's written reviews are positive against 12% of HID Reader Manager's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

C ships an update every 10 months, HID Reader Manager every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 17, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
