# Forest vs FocusFlight

The clearest difference is monetization model: Forest at free with in-app purchases against FocusFlight's subscription. Forest also leads on chart position (#199 vs unranked) and ratings volume (50K vs 9.8K). FocusFlight's advantage is review sentiment (89% vs 58%). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Forest sells 19 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and FocusFlight sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Forest against 4.8 for FocusFlight. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Forest has 50K ratings behind it against 9.8K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 58% of Forest's written reviews are positive against 89% of FocusFlight's.

Forest ships an update weekly, FocusFlight every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
