# Forest vs offtime

The clearest difference is update cadence: Forest at every 9 days against offtime's every 2 months. Forest also leads on ratings volume (50K vs 1) and chart position (#208 vs unranked). offtime's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Forest sells 19 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and offtime sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

offtime holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Forest has 50K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Forest ships an update every 9 days, offtime every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
