# Forest vs Focus Pet

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Focus Pet at 100% against Forest's 58%. Focus Pet also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 9 days) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Forest's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (50K vs 3). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Forest sells 19 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Focus Pet sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Focus Pet holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Forest has 50K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 58% of Forest's written reviews are positive against 100% of Focus Pet's.

Forest ships an update every 9 days, Focus Pet every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
