# Forest vs Focus Planet

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Forest at 50K against Focus Planet's 1. Forest also leads on chart position (#200 vs unranked). Focus Planet's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Forest sells 19 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Focus Planet sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Focus Planet holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Forest has 50K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Forest ships an update every 9 days, Focus Planet every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
