# Yacht Timer vs Voice Sail Start Timer

The clearest difference is rating: Voice Sail Start Timer at 5.0 against Yacht Timer's 4.5. Voice Sail Start Timer also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.6). Yacht Timer's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 60%) and ratings volume (10 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Voice Sail Start Timer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Yacht Timer has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Yacht Timer's written reviews are positive against 60% of Voice Sail Start Timer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Yacht Timer ships an update every 5 months, Voice Sail Start Timer every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
