# ektab vs Al Manhal

The clearest difference is monetization model: ektab at free against Al Manhal's free with in-app purchases. Al Manhal's advantage is review sentiment (83% vs 60%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.1). On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ektab sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Al Manhal sells 14 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 2.8 for ektab against 2.8 for Al Manhal. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 12 and 10 respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 60% of ektab's written reviews are positive against 83% of Al Manhal's.

ektab ships an update every 3 months, Al Manhal every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
