# Skip vs Ritual

The clearest difference is rating: Ritual at 4.8 against Skip's 3.0. Ritual also leads on ratings volume (22K vs 3) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months). Skip's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Ritual holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ritual has 22K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of Skip's written reviews are positive against 42% of Ritual's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Skip ships an update every 3 months, Ritual every 5 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
