# Dr. Gomoku vs ™ Gomoku

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Dr. Gomoku at none against ™ Gomoku's 1. Dr. Gomoku also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 7 months). ™ Gomoku's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.5 vs 4.1). On price, review sentiment, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ™ Gomoku sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Dr. Gomoku asks for nothing beyond the download.

™ Gomoku holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ™ Gomoku has 3.1K ratings behind it against 33, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Dr. Gomoku's written reviews are positive against 53% of ™ Gomoku's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Dr. Gomoku ships an update monthly, ™ Gomoku every 7 months. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
