# Learn German vs WörterMeister

The clearest difference is rating: WörterMeister at 5.0 against Learn German's 4.5. Learn German's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (550 vs 1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Learn German sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and WörterMeister sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WörterMeister holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Learn German has 550 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Learn German ships an update every 2 weeks, WörterMeister fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
