# Nikola Tesla AR vs HackerX

The clearest difference is rating: HackerX at 4.8 against Nikola Tesla AR's 4.2. HackerX also leads on ratings volume (2.8K vs 16) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 4 months). Nikola Tesla AR's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and review sentiment (85% vs 76%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HackerX sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Nikola Tesla AR asks for nothing beyond the download.

HackerX holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HackerX has 2.8K ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of Nikola Tesla AR's written reviews are positive against 76% of HackerX's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Nikola Tesla AR ships an update every 4 months, HackerX every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
