# Car vs Car Play Connect

The clearest difference is rating: Car at 5.0 against Car Play Connect's 4.4. Car also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10). Car Play Connect's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (20K vs 3). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Car Play Connect sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Car asks for nothing beyond the download.

Car holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Car Play Connect has 20K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Car ships an update every 6 months, Car Play Connect fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
