# Precision Trolling vs BoatSpeed

The clearest difference is rating: Precision Trolling at 4.5 against BoatSpeed's 4.0. Precision Trolling also leads on ratings volume (935 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). BoatSpeed's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 11) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Precision Trolling sells 11 one-off in-app purchases. BoatSpeed asks for nothing beyond the download.

Precision Trolling holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Precision Trolling has 935 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 90% of Precision Trolling's written reviews are positive against 100% of BoatSpeed's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Precision Trolling ships an update every 6 weeks, BoatSpeed every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
