# Exam Countdown vs Online Exam Software

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Online Exam Software at none against Exam Countdown's 5. Online Exam Software also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Exam Countdown's advantage is ratings volume (1.7K vs 1). On price, update cadence, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Exam Countdown sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 3 months. Online Exam Software asks for nothing beyond the download.

Online Exam Software holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Exam Countdown has 1.7K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Exam Countdown ships an update every 5 weeks, Online Exam Software monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
